On June 25th, The Umoja Freedom Festival will be held at Voinovich Park (the E. 9th St. Pier). Entertainment includes African Drumming as well as Arts & Crafts for the children. Bring your lawn chairs to enhance comfort. Travel to and from parking will be available on North Marginal. Bigman's Family Center will be providing free groceries on a first come, first served basis to 100 participants. Tap the Juneteenth logo below for more details. This forum will discuss civilian rights as it applies to the Constitution, what to do when stopped by police, ideas on how to solve the shortage of African American Police Officers and how Issue 24 will affect policing.
